Cecilia Escudero Basterrechea

Cecilia Escudero Basterrechea is a predoctoral researcher in the Medicines and Health PhD Programme at the University of Navarra. She holds a degree in Biochemistry with an International Science Program and a Master’s degree in Drug R&D from the University of Navarra, where she achieved outstanding academic results.

Her research experience spans molecular and cellular biology, cancer research and translational biomedical research. During her undergraduate and master’s projects, she worked on microprotein expression in response to cellular stress and plasma lipidomics for the diagnosis and phenotyping of canine lymphoma, gaining experience in cell culture, qPCR, Western blotting, molecular biology, mass spectrometry and data analysis.

Her scientific interests are centred on understanding biological mechanisms through an interdisciplinary approach combining experimental biology, metabolic analysis and data-driven methodologies. She joins the SOLAS Lab as a PhD researcher, contributing to the study of brain metabolism and its role in neurodegenerative disease.
